I so frustrated trapped and used Apple devices for nearly two decades going refurbished route no problems. If Apple Support App so vital it should come with devices ….sure as heck Apple TV etc were preloaded.

Was told by another tech I would need my password even with the app….say what? Just reread saw you wrote SIM card swap needed with friends phone. The techs keep saying there is nothing they can do….”it’s an automated process” “Use the Apple support app” they say BUT I cannot because unable to access my Apple account and iCloud they are still charging me for I can’t download any apps. Honey Badger Don’t Give A was cute …Apple holding my Apple account hostage not so much. Did receive a “if you need to reopen your case” email which leads me to believe the tech person got annoyed and/or feared a bad survey and closed the case and disrupted/ended my first attempt at account recovery. Again yesterday gave screen cc info, verified email, aka Apple ID, and now am waiting for an email from Apple which I was told during first attempted account recovery I’d receive with in 24 hours but 2 days later had not. I am supposedly going through account recovery now again and tried just days before.

I’ve gone round and round between iPhone 11 and iPad Pro 2020 this week first asking me if I will allow the device to reset my password…I say allow, codes sent I enter and phone just asks again for Apple password and iPad asks for some old Mac access or password I deleted from my account and haven’t used since 2013!
